British PM Theresa May-Our values, our country, and our way of life will always prevail
by Nathan'ette Burdine: May 24, 2017

Yesterday morning, British Prime Minister Theresa May spoke out about the terrorist’s attack that killed 22 young people and injured 59 others after an Ariana Grande concert that was held at Manchester Arena in Manchester, England.

May said, “And today, let us remember those who died and let us celebrate those who helped safe in the knowledge that the terrorists will never win and our values, our country, and our way of life will always prevail.”

The attack occurred late last night around 10:22PM. The BBC reported that a suicide bomber stood at one of the exits at the arena where the concert was being held.

During her press conference, May said that the injured had been taken to “eight different hospitals” in the Manchester area and several of those injured are in critical condition. The prime minister called the terrorists “sickening” and “cowardes.”

She also questioned why a person would make such a decision to go and place a bomb at a concert attended by several children, teenagers, and their families: “We struggle to comprehend the warp and twisted mind that sees a room packed with young children, not as a scene to cherish, but as an opportunity for carnage.”

Ariana Grande had just finished her concert when the bomb went off. Grande tweeted, “broken. From the bottom of my heart, I am so sorry. I don’t have words.”

The BBC reported that Prime Minister May has decided to discontinue her party’s general election campaign, which will resume at a later date, and to place her energy into addressing the rising threat of terrorism.
